What is it with actors and musicians thinking they can run for office at a whim? I am a fan of Tim McGraw but what on earth would make him to run for Governor of Tennessee. The worst part is that he will probably win should he run. With no experience in politics, you all you have to do is sell a few million records or get your face on a few major motion pictures and your in, you qualify to run a state or even the country.

Tim, stick to what you do best and leave the politics to um the professionals.

Faith Hill, Tim’s beautiful wife, said Tim has been talking about running for office. She said that when Tim McGraw sets his mind to something there is no stopping him. That would make Faith the First Lady of Tennessee.

To two have a fairy tail marriage would three daughters, balancing two major recording careers and the family of five is sometimes overwhelming. Faith said that Tim encourages here to have some Faith time, even if it’s just lunch with the Girls.

Although the 2007 Soul 2 Soul Concert Tour has ended, Tim McGraw Concert Ticket are available for one show that is scheduled for 2008 - Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Tickets - Featuring Tim McGraw Monday, March 3, 2008 at 6:00 PM at Reliant Stadium in Houston Texas – you can get tickets at Stubhub.com

Carrie Underwood Speaks About Dating  by Groshan Fabiola

Carrie Underwood has been the subject of the media ever since she won American Idol season four. Her success has already surpassed her triumph on the popular competitive talent show, earning numerous awards and accolades as a brilliant pop country singer. But while her exposure on American Idol has positively opened doors for her career, opportunities for love have been slim for this native of Checotah, Oklahoma.

In the past, Underwood has been linked to a few celebrities, including Oliver Trevena, who is a British singer, and Tony Romo, who is a Dallas Cowboy quarterback. Nevertheless, the romantic buzz never really developed into a relationship.

Recently named as “Sexiest Female Musician” by Victoria’s Secret, this magna cum laude graduate certainly proves that she has the beauty and the brains to attract possible suitors. But whether it’s because of her being preoccupied with her music career or just simply not being able to find Mr. Right, Underwood remains to be loveless at the moment. Despite being single, the American Idol champ remains to be positive about finding her match.

Although she doesn’t want to get married in the near future, she claims that she is eager to have someone by her side, especially when she has some good news about her life.

On the other hand, the 24-year old singer has become quite skeptical when it comes to the suitors who want to date her because of her fame and stardom that has allegedly become an obstacle in seeing their real intentions.

Meanwhile, she is focused in her singing career and looking good, not just because she wants to attract men, but because she wants to keep her stance in the industry. Aware of what the entertainment industry call for, she maintains a healthy lifestyle and tries to look pleasing in the eyes of her supporters.

Download Country Music for Convenience and Selection  by Ray La Foy

Most people realize iPods are great devices for downloading popular rock music and maybe some oldies, but what about country? Do these devices have enough offerings to warrant interest by country music fans?

Yes! The fact of the matter is country music iPod action is about as strong as it gets. As portable MP3 players become more and more popular and affordable, music labels across the board are embracing their use and seeing them as a new, and different outlet for selling their songs.

The benefits of country music downloads are many, too. They include such things as choice, flexibility in buying and even early releases of songs by artists. Country music offerings are becoming so popular, they can be found on just about every major download site and service worth its salt.

From the old trail western tunes to brand new, hot off the presses releases, country music iPod downloads are the wave of the future. This is so for a number of reasons, but the biggest revolve around the iPod and similar devices themselves. These include:

* Flexibility. Since iPods and other devices allow users to program them to play songs they want, when they want, they are considered one of the most flexible ways to enjoy music. The programming, or play lists, are created by users and not record labels. This means country music fans can mix up their tunes any way they want to.

* Portability. Country music iPod downloads can be taken anywhere a MP3 player is welcomed. This means they can go to work, on a jog, be used around the house and so on. Anywhere their users go, they can go, too. Unlike larger devices, these players are easier to carry, too, and don’t require a giant CD case to be brought along to provide a choice in music offerings.

* Pricing. Country music downloads just can’t be beaten for their pricing. This is especially so for fans who love a song or two on an album, but not the whole thing. Why pay $10 or $20 for a CD, when the desired song can be bought and downloaded for a fraction of the price? It just doesn’t make sense.

* Management. Country music download users can create their own music libraries without needing to mark out a lot of space in their homes. There are no CD cases to keep up with when this is the chosen route. A computer system and a download program are all that’s necessary to manage an iPod music library of any size.

* Mix creation. Country music iPod users can create their own mixes of music as often as they’d like. This means songs can be switched out, moved around and even removed from the device’s mix with a few minor steps. It’s no big deal to have a mix for each day of the week or even mood.

Fully embraced by just about every record label going, country music iPod downloads are becoming as popular as country music itself. Quick and easy to obtain, these downloads are available around the clock, too, so there’s no need to run to a store to get a favorite song right away.

Kenny Chesney is planning a huge tour this summer. Fresh out of the studio for his new album and eager to get back in touch with his fan base, he’s raring to go. When asked why he invited Walsh, he replied: “If you’ve ever listened to rock radio, you KNOW Joe Walsh,” Chesney said in a statement this week. “Nobody’s lived the life quite like him, and absolutely nobody plays guitar like he does, either. I think it’s gonna take it up a bunch getting him out here with us.”

He is using several inventive ideas to get the tour off to a great start. One of these ideas is using an old name to give power to a new tour. He has invited Joe Walsh, famous guitar rocker from such 70s giants as The James Gang and The Eagles, to be his guitarist on tour.

The 70s rock radio guitar icon signed on to the Chesney tour, and will join the touring band in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 3. Having his name on the roster will help Chesney attract a different crowd to his tour, and adds a certain amount of rock icon cachet that the younger rocker hasn’t achieved yet. You can Buy Kenny Chesney concert tickets online.

The week has been full of country music news, with tour dates, albums and news
items from a wide variety of Country Music stars. See what’s been going on around Nashville:

Brad Paisley added more tour dates to his highly successful tour, and also added more opening acts. His tour is now up to 75 tour dates, including Canada. His opening acts now include such industry up-and-comers as Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift and Ronnie Atkins.

Billy Ray Cyrus, of Achy Breaky Heart infamy and star of the show Doc, is doing a turn on Dancing with the Stars. You can read his blog about it at their web site. Hopefully his feet are more agile than his acting chops.

In a surprise move, Lonestar is losing its lead singer Richie McDonald. He’s decided to go solo. Not only that, he is also leaving the label. His former band mates in Lonestar are actively seeking a new record deal with another label. Its unsure whether the group, who has had 18 top ten songs on the country chart in their career, will remain successful with a new lead singer.

Jon Bon Jovi’s career has found new life (and new hair) in the world of Country music. He is set to play at the CMT Country Music Awards on April 16th, alongside such Country heavy hitters as Toby Keith and Keith Urban.

Weird pairing of the week: Montgomery Gentry and Dr. Maya Angelou. The Poet Laureate will be doing a speaking gig at Fisk University, and Montgomery Gentry will be playing the gig. You can try and get Concert Tickets for these two very different icons through Fisk - the engagement is at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on May 21, 2007.

Or should it be Loud Mouth of the year - Natalie Maines the mouthpiece for the Chicks spouts off another sour line while accepting the Country Album of the Year. “To quote the great Simpsons – “Heh-heh”, basically showing no appreciation that her peers have given them this great honor.

It is beyond me why anyone would give them this or the other Grammy nods, when the Dixie Chicks have clearly said they hate country music and don’t want to be associated with it. Not to mention all the political bad mouthing they (she) has done. Sure I don’t agree with most of what our current president has done, but I hate when public figures get on there soap box and give their option on current events.

They are entertainers their job is to entertain us and help remove us from the daily trials and tribulations the world brings us everyday. I do praise those public figures that take on issues such as Live Aid and Farm Aid. They are truly using their stardom in a positive way to actually make a difference – they are not just flappin their lips to be heard.

OK now on to more positive notes regarding the Grammy’s last night.

The 49th Annual Grammy Awards did have some great moments; The Police Reunion to kick off the show was great. Sting showed a strong vocal performance of their classic hit “Roxanne”. Rumor has it this reunion will lead to a 2007 tour – I sure hope so.

Red Hot Chili Peppers locked in four Grammy’s, and a gracious Mary J. Blige took home a surprising three Grammy’s.

Beyoncé belted out “Listen,” from the Dreamgirls soundtrack. Backed up with a full string section, Beyoncé powered through the songs superb lyrics making this one of the best performances of the night.

Justin Timberlake had my undivided attention with his “What Goes Around Comes Around” until that moment when he jumped up from the piano and grabbed a mini-camera and stuck it in his own face – that was a showstopper for me. Wonder if Britney was watching.

Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts teamed up for an incredible tribute to some classic tunes. They covered songs from Bob Wills and the Eagles. Carrie paid her compliments to the great Wills by performing his “San Antonio Rose” while a video screen showed Wills. Rascal Flatts the followed up with a scorching edition of “Hotel California”. Then it was Carrie again with a smooth performance of “Desperado,”

Smokey, Lionel and Christina put some Soul in to this years Grammy’s. With Chris Brown tying it all together. Brown’s entrance and performance was full of energy while singing “Run It”. Smokey Robinson sang his legendary “Tracks Of My Tears” followed by Richie 80’s hit ballad “Hello”. Christina Aguilera gave tribute to the distinguished James Brown performing his “It’s A Man’s World”.

Then there was Shakira - wow what can I say, those “Hips Don’t Lie”.

Gnarls Barkley’s brilliant inclusion of two escapees from “Fantasy Island”. Dressed as airline pilots, from approximately 1978, Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse began performed “Crazy” center stage in the round in the middle of the audience. Cee-Lo then headed to the central stage, meeting up with Danger Mouse, who was playing the piano. Backed by a large orchestra, an orange-jumpsuit dressed female choir and a kicking rock foursome.

Those were some of my favorite Grammy moments –

Here is a little background on the Grammy’s. Currently the Grammy’s have 108 categories within more than 20 musical genres. To win a Grammy you need the majority of your peers to vote in your favor (voting members of the Academy). Some of the best know voting members include Jon Bon Jovi, Prince, Anand Bhatt, Paul Simon, and Beyoncé Knowles.
