Slated for an 18-month long world tour, AC/DC will hit the road this October 2008.  It has been 8 years since the band has been on tour.  A new album due this month (August 2008) which is a Wal-Mart exclusive will hit the airways just in time for the tour.

“Stiff Upper Lip”, their last album, was released just prior to the bands 17 country year long tour in 2000.  Concert tickets for AC/DC will sell out fast as the normally do.  Actual dates have not been release as of this post.

Rumor has it another great rock band is talking about a 2009 tour…KISS  – Stay tuned!

I like Hot Topic because you will find different band t-shirts not found at the local t-shirt stores.  Their line of South Park T-shirts are awesome, I am a rocker and am very satisfied with the selection of Band T-shirts available on the Hot Topic site, but as a dad with three daughters I’d like to see them expand their section a bit to include some the younger kiddie bands, I’m sure they could sell a ton to Jonas Brothers T-shirts, at least three to me anyway.

Zeppelin may be the last act standing to hold out offering up their music for digital distribution, i.e. MP3 Music Downloads, etc.  November 13, Led Zeppelin released a back catalog of music all available online.  Of course “Stairway to Heaven” and “Communication Breakdown” are among the Zeppelin tunes that are now available to download from the like of iTunes and other popular legal and legitimate music download services.

A two-CD release called “Mothership” was also made available for downloading.  Verizon Wireless cut a deal to offer Led Zeppelin Ringtones and music downloads to mobile phones. 

In a separate deal, Led Zeppelins eight studio albums and various other recordings have netted them an estimated $60 million for extending it current relationship with its longtime music publisher for at least the next 10 years.

Geddy Lee, Rush’s front man, has been rockin’ with the other members of the Canadian rock band since the 1970s.  The bands latest tour, titled Snakes & Arrows , will plow through 45 North American cities this summer.

This is Rush’s first tour since their 30-year anniversary excursion back in 2004.  Atlanta Georgia has been marked as the first city with a slew of US and Canada cities ending in Kanata, Ontario September 21st.  With no break in site Rush will launch the European leg of the Snakes & Arrows tour October 3, 2007.

Rush Concert Tickets have always been hard to come by with their hugh fan base.  But rest assured the likes of TicketsNow.com will have a run of Concert Tickets available for most of the Sold Out Rush Tickets.

As with most tours a new Rush album simply titled “Snakes” is due out May 1st.  This marks the bands first new release since their 2002 “Vapor” Trails” LP.  “Snakes” was recorded in the fall of 2006.  Nick Raskulineca produced some of the tracks (Nick is best known for his Grammy winning Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver production).

The first cut released by Rush, titled “Far Cry”, hit the top 10 in the rock radio world.  It also was the number one most added song.  With over 35 million albums sold over their 30 year run, this years concert and new release will keep them rocking for years to come.

In a final note – Rush is up for a Juno Award next month for its Rush-R30 30th Anniversary Tour (Deluxe Edition) set, which captures the band’s 30th Anniversary Tour stop in Frankfurt, Germany.

Ready to relive your glory days as a long haired glam rocker? Miss the sounds of hair metal blasting from your Trans Am on a warm summer night? Want to lust after your favorite metal icons again, and you have the Aquanet and scrunch boots to prove it? Wait no more, there is a tour happening this summer just for you.

Poison and Ratt go on tour all summer. The tour is just in time for the release of the new album by Poison, titled Poison’d. Poison’d features the original band line up laying down tracks by favorite artists like The Who, Loggins and Messina and more. Ratt does not currently have a new album out, although you can get most of their songs through online music downloads.  The tour is scheduled to start June 13 in SC and will run until fall.  Ratt Concert Tickets will be easy to get considering this will not be the biggest tour this summer.

 

Poison and Ratt expect to play 50 or 60 tour dates, mostly festivals and outdoor events.  One of these outdoor events is slated to be Sturgis, South Dakota’s famed Buffalo Chip. You can look for Poison’s new album in store or online June 5. Poison Concert Tickets will be one of those hit and miss concert events, selling out in some cities while hardly selling in others.  Along with Ratt other 80′s big hard groups will be hitting the summer with hair spray and spandex in tow.  Check back here or at the major concert ticket services online to confirm dates in your town.  Get ready, your favorite big haired rockers are coming to a venue near you!
